The works at the Spotify Camp Nou do not stop. This morning Barça published a video showing the progress in the construction of what will be the new Blaugrana temple. The construction company in charge of the remodeling, Limak, is so far complying with the established deadlines for the complete completion of the works by the end of September 2026.
The work began on June 1 and in these five months the progression of the culé temple has varied over time. First, elements such as the third tier, the grass and the seats were removed until it was in its current state, of which only the skeletons of the first and second tier remain.
Different changes are also being made in the surroundings of the stadium, where only the sculptures dedicated to Johan Cruyff and Ladislao Kubala, two myths of Barcelona fans, remain. Regarding the interior, the earth, the ruins and the remains of the demolished structures predominate in the center of the playing field, whose grass is expected to be finished by November 2024: a period in which Barça could debut the new Camp Nou with a limited capacity of 70,000 spectators.
However, the Spotify Camp Nou is expected to accommodate 104,000 fans once the entire remodeling process is complete. Likewise, the new field will have two 360-degree VIP rings and a constructed area of ??228,000 square meters. A unique work for which around half a thousand people work daily.
