This is how interest in fashion weeks has varied, according to Google

Fashion weeks are the most anticipated events in this sector, where the most relevant designers show on the catwalk the new collections that will set the trends of the season. For a few days, the city in question is placed in the spotlight, not only for the collections themselves, but also for the looks of those who attend the shows.

Although there are many cities that hold their own fashion weeks, there is no doubt that the most popular are Paris, Milan, New York and London. Now, interest in each has varied over the years, as can be seen from the Google Trends search results.

In 2004, New York Fashion Week was the most popular for Google searches, followed by London Fashion Week. Both appointments shared the popularity leadership until 2017, when interest in London Fashion Week was declining in this search engine, while New York Fashion Week continued to grow in searches.

The year 2021 brought with it a pause in interest in fashion weeks at Google, caused by the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. Since then, Paris Fashion Week has established itself as the most searched Fashion Week on Google.

New York Fashion Week is in second position. For its part, Milan Fashion Week holds third place, significantly increasing its popularity in recent years. On the other hand, London Fashion Week has lost interest in Google searches, being fourth in this ranking.

If we limit the results to searches for fashion weeks in Spain, Milan was the one that aroused the most interest in 2004, the date to which the data goes back. Starting in 2005, New York Fashion Week was ranked as the most searched week on Google year after year.

But the trend changed starting in 2018, when Paris fashion week began to be the most searched on Google in our country. This month of February 2024, Milan Fashion Week has been the most searched, closely followed by Paris Fashion Week. Thirdly, there is London Fashion Week and, finally, New York Fashion Week.
