This Saturday, Jerez de la Frontera witnessed the grand wedding between Victoria de Hohenlohe, Duchess of Medinaceli, and Maxime Corneille. The ceremony took place in the Church of San Miguel, where hundreds of guests including family, friends and well-known faces, even internationally, have traveled. However, and despite the magnitude of the link, there have also been many hearings. And there are many clashes between the different Medinaceli clans over the family’s inheritance, something that divided it and that has been reflected during the day this Saturday.

The truth is that it was a wedding in style, despite the fact that the young woman is quite unknown in the world of social chronicle. Born in Malaga in 1997, Victoria is the daughter of Marco Hohenlohe (grandson of the Duchess of Medinaceli) and the German Sandra Schmidt-Polex. After the separation of her parents, she went to live in Munich with her mother and her younger brother Alexandre, visiting her father in Spain from time to time, but very far from the culture and the media of our country.

After the death of her father in 2016, Victoria inherited the duchy of Medinaceli and moved to live in Madrid, where she currently resides and where she trained in finance and economics. The truth is that the clashes between the different Medinaceli clans over the inheritance of the old duchess divided the family. Rafael Medina and her brother, Luis Medina, children of Naty Abascal, Victoria herself and her cousins, Casilda and Victoria, are immersed in a judicial process over her grandmother’s inheritance. And her uncle, Ignacio Medina, Duke of Segorbe, is not willing to share his mother’s inheritance.

Therefore, due to these tensions, Pablo Hohenlohe, uncle of the bride, his wife María del Prado and their daughters Allegra and Cecilia were not present this Saturday. Nor has the bride’s judicial opponent, his great-uncle, the Duke of Segorbe, nor his wife, Princess María Gloria Orleans-Braganza, first cousin of Juan Carlos I, nor his daughters Sol and Moon. Despite everything, the couple has been surrounded by great friends.

Regarding the celebration, it was Alexander, her brother and Duke of Ciudad Real, who was in charge of leading the young woman to the altar. After the religious ceremony, the hundreds of guests moved to the Finca Salto al Cielo, property of the López-Carrizosa family, with whom the bride maintains a close friendship. During this afternoon, there were many recognized faces that could be seen there, and there were nearly 400 guests at the event. Among them, Máxima and William of Holland, along with her daughter Amalia, who joined the subsequent celebration.

Luis Medina and Clara Caruana were among the first to be seen in the church this morning. The bride’s cousin officially introduced his partner, and both were smiling and happy to be able to be with the couple on their big day. Fernando Fitz-James Stuart and Sofía Palazuelo, great friends of the couple, also attended. The Duchess of Huéscar dazzled during her arrival at the venue, wearing an impressive tunic-type chiffon dress with a gathered bodice and bell sleeves with an original polka dot print.

Minutes later, Miriam de Ungría appeared, along with her children, Boris and Beltrán. The widow of Prince Kardam of Bulgaria looked spectacular in a loose-fitting gray dress with a crossover neckline and cape-style sleeves. Another of the guests who dazzled her, as she could not have done otherwise, was the proud mother of the bride, Sandra Schmidt-Polex, radiant, wearing a simple and airy blue dress with transparencies.

One of the aspects that has been most commented on has been the bride’s dress for this wedding. The young woman, 27 years old, has walked to the altar in a delicate dress, with a scoop neckline and elbow-length sleeves, which, apparently, is from the brand T.ba, owned by her close friend Sol Prado. In fact, both the cut and the style are very reminiscent of the one the designer wore at her wedding. The train of the dress was the most spectacular element of the design, as it was several meters long and featured a spectacular hand-embroidered mantilla.

On the other hand, due to family conflicts, the bride could not wear the house’s tiara, one of the most impressive jewels from the Medinaceli jeweler that a few months ago was worn by Ignacio Medina’s daughter during her wedding. However, spectacular jewelry has not been lacking in her style, and she has been seen wearing a discreet white gold and diamond brooch and matching earrings.
