In February, in a report by Dayana Bravo in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, I explained how I had discovered a spot on Google Earth in the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park, and how, when I went to check what it was, I saw that it was an abandoned vehicle in a ravine that was difficult to access.
Thanks to the photographs that I took and that were published, this Saturday the operation was carried out to remove from this protected area this vehicle that had been there for at least 20 years, in a place close to the emblematic farmhouse of Can Towers.
Rural agents, volunteers and more staff from the Barcelona Provincial Council went to the place early this morning, with ropes, saws and they have been cutting the abandoned car into pieces and pieces so that a helicopter could take it away.
In the photographs that I have taken you can see how difficult it was to access. With a system of pulleys, they have been putting the cut parts of the car on a platform so that the helicopter could take it away. In these photographs that I have captured we can see the works and get an idea of ??the deployment.
They have made several packages with all the pieces of the car. They all wore helmets because many stones fell from the ravine. Security measures had to be taken, but the operation has gone extremely well and I am glad that the report published in La Vanguardia has motivated this action to remove this abandoned vehicle in a protected area.
The car, with obvious signs of rust from the passage of time, must have been abandoned at least a couple of decades ago, when the barriers had not yet been installed in the natural park and it was possible to access it with a vehicle.
