Agents of the National Police have arrested two men ‘red-handed’, aged 31 and 35, after allegedly marking doors of homes in the city of Valencia to enter and steal.
They were surprised while manipulating the door of a building and immediately threw a purse containing numerous tools for committing forceful robberies to the ground. They used lip creams to mark the locks that they considered as targets to attack later.
The events occurred early Tuesday morning when the agents, while carrying out citizen security tasks, detected two individuals manipulating the door of a neighbors’ patio in the Valencian Transit district.
Upon noticing the police presence, these men hurriedly left the place, accelerating their march, at which point the officers stopped them and watched as one of them threw a purse onto the road.
After being questioned about the reason for their presence there, both appeared very nervous, offering contradictory versions. When examining the purse, the agents located inside 17 ‘bumping’ keys and other tools intended for picking locks.
During the superficial security search, transparent plastic sheets, commonly used to open doors using the ‘slip’ method, were also found among their clothes, as well as moldable aluminum witnesses used to commit force robberies through the technique known as ‘impressioning’. They also seized a lip cream used to mark the locks and a flashlight.
Continuing with the investigations, another indicator of citizen security carried out various raids in the surrounding area, at which time after carrying out a search inside a building, they were able to observe eight home locks marked with lipstick.
Likewise, they noticed that another door was open. They found out, after interviewing the resident, that the drawers in a room were open and mixed up, and they could not determine at that time if any objects had been stolen.
For these reasons, both men, with no police record, were arrested as presumed responsible for a crime of robbery with force, for which they were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority.
