The National Police is investigating the death of the 20-year-old girl whose body was rescued on Saturday morning at the foot of the Santa Catalina hill in Gijón, the city where she disappeared on Friday.

The victim left a handwritten letter in which he explained the causes that had led him to make the decision to end his life. In what is interpreted as a farewell letter, the young woman who completed her educational stage at the center during the 2016-2017 academic year, wrote: “That you know that you have hurt many people, and now I hope that you bear a death in your awareness”.

In the letter, the victim states, “you have taken a girl with high self-esteem and high abilities and you have crushed her to the point of not getting out of bed for years and leading her to commit suicide.”

Fire and Rescue personnel located the lifeless body of the young woman, whose disappearance had been reported on Friday by her family, who alerted the local police that she was missing from her home.

The body was found after a search carried out by the first exit vehicle, with three troops, and the Salvage jet ski, according to the city council.

Police sources have confirmed that investigation work is being carried out to clarify the causes of the death of the young woman.

The La Asunción educational center has issued a note in which it expresses its “total dismay” at the death of its former student and expresses its condolences to family and friends.

The management of the center, the owners and the entire educational community, adds the letter, “deeply regret this painful loss that has caused enormous sadness and shock in all members of the school.”

The La Asunción school points out that its students are the “priority” and adds: “Good coexistence and the fight against bullying are among its fundamental principles.”

Thus, he concludes: “for this reason we make ourselves available to the family, the educational community and, if necessary, the authorities”, and pleads for “respect” for all the people who are currently experiencing a “difficult moment”.

In the last hours, more testimonies from former students have appeared on the networks that would corroborate the alleged existence of abuses in the aforementioned educational center in Gijón.
