The body of the woman who disappeared in Cieza has been found in a well that is difficult to access in the town itself, next to the highway, as confirmed by Civil Guard sources. The GEAS (Special Underwater Activities Group) troops have canceled the search device after the discovery, in which members of mountain specialists had to intervene.

The victim, of North African origin, had been missing since last Wednesday, when she did not return home after going out to do the shopping. It was the woman’s brother who reported her disappearance last Thursday, at which time the search operation was launched.

Everything indicates that it could be the body of the woman, 34 years old and of North African origin, that the Armed Institute has been searching for in the Segura River, as it passes through the municipality of Cieza, although at this time “the body is not is fully identified,” investigation sources insist, as they are awaiting the results of the autopsy.

Already on Friday, the Civil Guard arrested the woman’s ex-partner, a man, also of North African origin, who had a restraining order for mistreatment that he had broken, after contacting her to threaten her. According to the victim’s brother, the detainee had sent various threatening messages via WhatsApp just a few days ago to the victim. The Civil Guard does not rule out that it is a death due to gender violence.
