The National Police has dealt a blow to drug trafficking in Spain, with the seizure in the port of Algeciras (Cádiz) of the largest cache of cocaine seized in the country, as reported today by this body, which calls it a “coup without precedents”.
The consignment exceeds 9,000 kilos of cocaine, and so far the largest consignment of this substance seized in Spain was the shipment of 8,740 kilos located in 2018 in a container of bananas from Colombia that also arrived by ship at the port of Algeciras.
Those responsible for this operation will offer details of this investigation tomorrow at a press conference in Algeciras.
Police sources have told EFE that no arrests have been made in the operation so far.
