“At this point, the fact that attacks like the one that occurred in Perales de Tajuña against a councilwoman continue to occur is terrible for society. Violence is the worst thing that can happen in a society.” The leader of the PSOE-M, Juan Lobato, has denounced through twitter the attack suffered on Sunday evening by Tamara Orejón, one of the socialist councilors in the Madrid town of Perales de Tajuña, when, in the company of her couple and their two-year-old son, was attacked by five people, among whom she recognized two members of the candidacy that Vox presented to the municipal elections of 28-M.

The news has been released by the socialist group itself in the aforementioned Madrid town through an official statement confirming that both Tamara Orejón and her partner had to be transferred to the Hospital del Sureste “due to the serious injuries suffered.”

“The facts and the aggressors have been denounced, although they were not arrested,” says the PSOE of Perales. The Civil Guard, for its part, is investigating what happened and verifying the facts detailed in the complaint to proceed with subsequent arrests, sources from the Armed Institute point out.

The Consistory of Perales de Tajuña, led by Mayor Yolanda Cuenca (PP), has been quick to condemn what happened, denouncing that “this type of act does not fit in our society, not only against a member of the Local Corporation, but towards any neighbor”.

“Perales de Tajuña is a town in which neighborhood coexistence has always been above political colors or ideas. The Patron Saint Festivities must be the best reflection of who we are as a town and we cannot tolerate this type of behavior,” he says. the statement released this Monday by the council team.

The spokesperson for Más Madrid in the Madrid Assembly, Mónica García, has also condemned the attack: “This is outrageous. All our support for Tamara, her partner and her son. Our absolute condemnation of the thugs who are spreading hate.”

The town of Perales de Tajuña celebrates these days its summer festivities in honor of Santa María del Castillo. In the last municipal elections, the PP won again with 6 councilors compared to 5 for the PSOE. Vox, which achieved 7.33% of the votes, did not obtain representation.
