The newborn from Malaga who, at just 16 days old, was admitted to the Maternal and Child Hospital after allegedly being a victim of abuse, remains in a complicated and serious situation.” This was confirmed this Tuesday by Loles López, Inclusion Counselor. Social, Youth, Families and Equality of the Junta de Andalucía, who has confirmed that the provisional abandonment of the newborn has been decreed.

With this, and once the minor recovers and manages to leave the hospital, she could become part of an emergency foster family.

“The first thing is for the baby to get well. That is what everyone wants, of course,” stressed López, who explained that provisional help has been decreed so that, “once she leaves the hospital, give it the most stable measure.”

Thus, he insisted that “I hope he recovers and leaves the hospital” to point out that one of the measures may be to find him an emergency foster family, which “there are, many, and they have enormous hearts and enormous solidarity.”

Finally, he did not specify more information about the baby’s family, but he did say that “when that happens, there is generally a very big family breakdown behind it.” “The first thing is the victim and here the victim is the baby”, she concluded.

It is worth remembering that the minor’s father, “who was the one who had taken her to the hospital” was detained, was brought to judicial custody, and last Saturday his provisional release was decreed, “logically with the obligation to appear on record by the of the head of the investigating court”.

The baby is in critical condition in the pediatric Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of this Malaga hospital since she was treated by health personnel on February 1.
