The prosecution requests 42 years in prison for a volunteer from a cult center in Vic for allegedly abusing 7 minors, between the ages of 5 and 9, while teaching class. The public prosecutor’s office considers that the facts constitute 7 crimes of sexual abuse of minors and also another of exhibitionism.

On the other hand, the prosecution requests that the defendant be prohibited from coming within 500 meters of the minors or communicating by any means with them, as well as special disqualification from exercising any trade, paid or not, that involves regular and direct contact with minors.

In terms of civil liability, compensation of 10,000 euros is requested for moral damages to each victim and the facts will be judged next Tuesday, April 18 at the Provincial Court of Barcelona.

According to the prosecution’s brief, the defendant was a volunteer at a cult center in the capital of Osona and was dedicated to teaching children between the ages of 5 and 9. On three different occasions during April 2016, it is reported how the defendant, guided by a “libidinous mood”, and taking advantage of the fact that the students approached him to answer questions during class, sought physical contact.

The way of operating was similar in all cases: “the children sat on their legs and pressed them tightly against their own body.” She also gave them kisses on the neck, hugged them and forced them to do “unnecessary touching” of a sexual nature over their clothes. On occasions, the defendant also touched himself in front of the minors.

The prosecutor’s office considers that for each of the seven crimes of sexual abuse, the maximum penalty stipulated in the penal code should be imposed, six years in prison for each minor, 42 in total. For the crime of exhibitionism, 9 months in prison are requested and the prosecution also wants the defendant to assume the procedural costs.
