“In Madrid there is no bedbug infestation, as happens in Paris.” This has been confirmed by the Madrid Minister of Health. Fátima Matute acknowledges that the presence of these insects has been detected locally in a community of residents of Lavapiés, in the Center district of the capital, but it is already “controlled” by disinfestation companies.
Both the General Directorate of Public Health and the Madrid City Council are responsible for “monitoring” whether there is an excessive increase in bedbugs or cockroaches, Matute explained in statements to journalists during a visit to the Los Alpes health center in Madrid, where Simultaneous vaccination against flu and covid-19 has begun.
“In Madrid we can rest assured because there is no bedbug infestation, as is the case in other cities, such as Paris, although action is taken punctually in cases where there is any indication that there may be cockroaches, bedbugs or mosquitoes,” Matute stated.
