The 22-year-old man stabbed to death in the Madrid neighborhood of Tetuán at dawn last Sunday, was prohibited from leaving Spain as a result of the precautionary measure imposed by a court in the capital for having been involved last year in a sexual assault.

In addition, the young man – whose possible membership in the Trinitarian youth gang is being investigated – had accumulated a record of robbery with violence, home invasion and illegal possession of weapons.

His crime could be the first perpetrated by youth gangs in Madrid so far this year, since the main hypothesis is that he was assassinated by rival gang members after a fight that occurred in a nightclub near the place where his death occurred, on Bravo street. Murillo from the Tetuán neighborhood.

However, the Homicide agents and the Provincial Information Brigade, with groups specialized in youth gangs, do not rule out other lines of investigation.

The young man was initially assisted for a cardiac arrest by agents of the National Police and when the Emergency services arrived they detected a lesion on both sides of the heart, with entrance and exit, and declared the death after an attempt at resuscitation with internal cardiac massage during about fifteen minutes.

Now the priority, according to police sources, is to reconstruct the crime to identify the perpetrators, for which the images from various security cameras in the area are being viewed, among other investigations.

It is also being investigated whether the young man, named Álex, a Spaniard of Dominican origin, belonged to the Trinitarios, the dominant gang in the Tetuán neighborhood, where he lived.

In 2022, a court in Madrid, despite ordering his provisional release after being arrested, ordered the withdrawal of his passport as a precautionary measure when he was involved in a sexual assault.
