I have been able to capture these images of the bearded vulture flying in the area of ??Mount Puigmal for the Readers’ Photos of La Vanguardia.
The bearded vulture is a vulture noticeably different from other species. It receives its name from the custom of picking up bones and dropping them at high altitudes to break them against the rocks. The bones are their food.
The color of the plumage varies depending on its age. In these images we see a young specimen, since, when they are adults, they have more brownish-yellowish colors.
Mount Puigmal with 2914 meters of altitude, is located between the municipality of Queralbs in the region of Ripollès and Err, in the French Upper Cerdanya.
As we can see in the images, there is still a lot of snow in Puigmal at the beginning of the month of May, when we are already on the way to summer.
