In this series of photographs in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos I show the yellow beauty that invades the spring rapeseed fields in the Vall d’en Bas, in the Garrotxa region.
The rapeseed brings a yellow to the rural landscape that combines perfectly with the blue of the sky, as can be seen in these images in which I wanted to capture the essence of spring on a splendid, almost pre-summer day.
The snapshots correspond to the rapeseed fields that can be found near the towns of Mallol and Sant Privat d’en Bas.
The yellow color of the rapeseed fields attracts a lot of attention, generating a very bucolic image that extends throughout various Catalan regions.
Rapeseed can be a profitable crop. In Catalonia, it is the Osona region where there are the most extensions, although it is also present in Garrotxa and other areas.
