Closer to the second than to the first, I like to think that the years are just a number, but I verify, not without a certain astonishment, that the age of each one weighs more on others than on oneself and above all it is much more difficult to drag in women than in men. Practical example: a friend suggests that I meet an acquaintance of his who has already turned 70 and I don’t do the math. I start thinking about gentlemen of that age who are not only good looking, but also good hearing, good smelling, good taste and even good touch. If I ask the age it is to avoid surprises and rule out, from the outset, that my son’s or even my father’s may have; in the first case to avoid having to explain to him who Sandokán was and, in the second, because he would be dead.
What is the problem? When the gentleman in question asks the age of the woman they want to introduce him to, immediately, without further questions, he rules out the possibility of meeting her in all cases in which he is no longer old enough to be her daughter or almost.

So it’s fine to show off your years and experience the passage of time as an achievement, but in that, as in so many other things related to the opposite sex, there’s no way to stop fighting over everything.
