Miguel López, from A Coruña, a teacher of early childhood and primary education in A Coruña and known on social networks and in the publishing world as ‘El Hematocrítico’, died this Monday afternoon at the age of 47 due to a myocardial infarction.

It was the Galician writer Ledicia Costas, his partner and co-writer of some of his works, who confirmed López’s death. “Out of immense pain I have to tell you that this afternoon ‘El Hematocrítico’, my life partner and the most wonderful person who has crossed my path, has left,” she wrote. “Wherever you are right now, THANK YOU,” he said.

‘El Hematocrítico’ has been considered an Internet star. Responsible for successful humor projects such as El Hematocrítico de Arte, Drama en el Portal or Los Hermanos Podcast, he has also collaborated with numerous media outlets.

His account on X, formerly Twitter, has 140,000 followers, while on Instagram it exceeds 21,000, who have mourned the sudden death of Miguel López. At 3:47 p.m. this Monday he had published his last tweet.

Regarding his role as a writer, he has written the children’s books Feliz Feroz, Agente Ricitos or Lobo con boots.

Leaders of different political colors have expressed their regret over the death of Miguel López. This is the case of the leader of the BNG, Ana Pontón; of the socialists Gonzalo Caballero and Carmela Silva; or Ángela Rodríguez ‘Pam’, among others.
