Jorge Javier Vázquez is one of the most popular faces on television. Throughout all these years he has carved out an impeccable career at Mediaset, where he has been able to present some of the audiovisual group’s most successful programs. But without a doubt, the program for which he will always be remembered will be Save me.
The La Fábrica de la Tele format said goodbye to its viewers on June 23, after more than fourteen years being the fundamental pillar of Telecinco’s afternoons. But the goodbye of the format was not as perfect as his followers expected, since there was a great absence, that of Jorge Javier Vázquez. The presenter was fired weeks before the program due to medical leave, which has kept him away from the media focus to this day.
The interest and expectation to know how the presenter was, made Jorge Javier Vázquez share a statement on his social networks on June 3, in which he recounted what had happened to him and thanked all the expressions of affection he was receiving. ”Sometimes you have to stop. The body and mind send you signals and throughout my life I have paid little attention to them. Until today. I need to stop to take care of myself. To ask me what I want. If I’m clear. If I don’t know, I better wait ”, he wrote.
”Going back is the last thing on my mind, although it may be what I most want tomorrow. Don’t know. So for now I can only say “Goodbye,” he added. After those words, the presenter did not speak again about his future, until this very Tuesday, when Vázquez once again shared a mysterious letter.
The presenter explained that he had been watching a play starring the actress Nacha Guevara in Buenos Aires. A trip that the presenter is enjoying to the fullest and in which he is surely also reflecting on his professional future. ”It’s been a very intense emotional journey,” he declared. ”I think a lot about you, about all of you who dedicate a moment of your life to write to me and dedicate words full of affection and encouragement. Thank you always. You don’t know how they wrap my soul. I wish you an unforgettable month of August. Goodbye ”, he wrote in the Instagram post.
Jorge Javier Vázque’s professional future is still up in the air. Several weeks ago, the Yotele outlet revealed exclusively that the Fuencarral chain was preparing a new format for interviews with famous personalities. This new television space would mean the long-awaited return of the Catalan presenter, who would have to face one of the strongest programs on the Antena 3 television schedule every night, El Hormiguero.
This new format called Chinese Tales would have already been approved by the Mediaset leadership and would be on the air between the months of September and December. As published by Telemagazine, the pilot program was presented to the board a few days ago.
