Carmen, the woman murdered in Humilladero (Málaga) at the hands, presumably, of her partner, came to blame him for the attack that ended her life. This is confirmed by sources close to the investigation, which is still open to determine if, as it appears, it is a new case of gender violence that would make her the 29th victim of this scourge so far this year, the eighth in Andalusia.
The woman, who died early Thursday morning due to a head injury, had denounced the man with whom she had a romantic relationship in September 2020 for ill-treatment. Both had been included in the Integral Monitoring System for Gender Violence (Viogen), although their case remained inactive since no judicial measures were issued.
In Humilladero, the town where Carmen spent her entire life and created her family (she was the mother of 3 children), a day of mourning has been decreed and a concentration of rejection of the event has been called in which a minute of silence will be observed, as confirmed by the mayor of this town in Malaga, Miguel Ángel Pérez, with just 3,000 inhabitants. The flags will fly at half mast during this Friday day.
It was a call to 112 during this early morning reporting that there was a woman with serious difficulties breathing that activated the emergency services, who transferred her by helicopter to the Regional Hospital of Malaga, where she was admitted to the ICU due to the injuries she presented and where she would die hours later. He went to the Civil Guard unit that appeared at the scene to which the victim would have confirmed that her sentimental partner was behind the attack.
The man was arrested shortly after in the Malaga town of Alameda, a place near Humilladero, and was transferred to the cells of Antequera, where he remains at the expense of his statement being taken.
The first incident between the victim and the detainee would have occurred over the weekend. It is also being investigated whether there would have been other confrontations previously, although it has been known that Carmen had already denounced this individual in 2020 for ill-treatment in 2020.
If confirmed as a sexist murder, with this woman from Malaga there would be 29 fatalities this year due to sexist violence and 5 in the month of July. In the community, up to now, 7 women have lost their lives at the hands of their partners or ex-partners, 2 of them in the province of Malaga.
From January 1, 2003 until today, there would be 1,213 fatalities due to Gender Violence with this last victim.
