I have portrayed for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia this curious sculpture, and very well made with forging, which represents a horse and has a red heart in the very prominent middle.
This work of art is located outdoors, at the entrance of a very pretty farmhouse, near the village of Navàs, in the Bages region.
We can see that it is a winged horse, a fantastic and chimerical animal, like the sphinx, the centaur or the griffin. It is a very present element in myths and legends.
According to the historian Marc-André Wagner, the first representations of winged horses date back to the 19th century BC. C., in the proto-Hittite peoples, in the Anatolian area.
Without a doubt, Pegasus is the best known winged horse. The winged horse has been very present in the history of art and in traditional folklore.
