The W15 is Mercedes’ new car to regain the crown after two disastrous years. Presented this Wednesday at Silverstone, it is the last car that Lewis Hamilton will drive in the star team before making the jump to Ferrari in 2025.

With a renewed, more daring concept, and changed components, Toto Wolff hopes that the new car will take them back to the path of victory, which has been scarce in this black 2022-23 biennium: a single victory, by George Russell, at Interlagos 2022.

The new Mercedes of 2024 changes its appearance. The decoration of the car recovers the silver color (in the front area), but the black is still present in the lower part, sidepods and spoilers.

The design of the car is the work entirely of the recovered technical director James Allison (after his experience in the America’s Cup). The result is a car that changes the concept compared to its two predecessors to try to get closer to Red Bull.

“We are completely changing the chassis layout, weight distribution and airflow,” said team principal Toto Wolff, who found that the technical team has chosen to change “all the components to have a chance – between not achieve what we expect, to catch up and take a big step forward and compete at the head, anything is possible.
