The Cabildo de Tenerife has presented this Wednesday the VII Iberostar Challenge, an amateur cycling event that will be held this Sunday, December 4 and that will take place in the Tenerife municipalities of Adeje, Guía de Isora, Santiago del Teide, La Orotava, Vilaflor and Arona .

The councilor for the area, Concepción Rivero, has announced that the former professional cyclist Igor Antón or the Spanish track champion, Rubén Tanco, will be present at the competition.

The insular director of Sports, Ángel Luis Pérez, has highlighted “the good reception” that this test has received year after year and has emphasized that Tenerife is “the perfect setting” to host cycling events due to “the climate, the landscapes and the the number of practitioners on the island”.

In parallel, other “dynamizing” activities will be carried out, such as an exhibition of classic bicycles, talks on road safety, mobility and renewable energies by César Lantigua and Igor Antón and a lunch with all the participants once the race is over. Spanish cycling looks towards the Canary Islands this weekend.
