Despechá’s video clip breaks the internet in just 24 hours and has already accumulated more than 4 million views and thousands of comments. The video, directed by Mitch Ryan and shot on a beach in Mallorca, shows a beachy Rosalía, eating pickled ham and mussels and playing with her relatives, a typical scene of any Spanish family on vacation.
The video has positioned itself as number 1 in trends on the YouTube platform, in which many of its fans assure that the success of the katana will quickly become the song of the summer. In fact, the song was number 7 on the day of its premiere on the Spotify Global list, becoming the first Spanish woman to get a song to be over a million streams for more than ten days.
Rosalía has managed to position herself as number 1 on the video platform with more than nine songs, including La Fama, Yo x ti, tú x mi, Aute Couture and the Catalan song Millonària, among others.
The song premiered on July 28 and is the Catalan’s first single since she released her most recent album, Motomami.
