The Valencian will have a lower rating than the doctorate to work in public health

The Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez, has confirmed that the merit of the Valencian language will have a lower value than that of the doctorate to access public health workforces. “I want for the Valencians and for myself to be served by the best: the best trained, the one who knows the most and the one who has the most experience,” he stated.

This is what the Minister of Health said this Friday during his speech at the Alicante Forum, entitled ‘The challenge of achieving excellent healthcare’ and organized by the Information Club.

The councilor has stressed that he wants Valencians and himself to be served by “the best” and has advanced that the Valencian language as a merit will have a lower value than doctoral academic training. Furthermore, he has maintained that there will be no “bias” due to being registered for more or less time in the employment exchange.

“We want the best, regardless of the languages ??they speak, to solve everyday problems,” Gómez stressed, while pointing out that they will change the stock market decree so that the points for medical and nursing staff are not based on time in the stock market or language, “but based on their training.”

The councilor has considered that this implies “generating value and quality.” “The first aspect is to escape from ideology. No one can be efficient if they have predetermined ideas, because it restricts freedom and prevents you from seeing what is there.”

In this sense, he has defended that his Ministry makes decisions “based on data, trends, surveys or efforts, not with ideological arguments.”
