The presence of models and influencers in contests outside their field of work is a fact that continues to raise a lot of controversy, especially in events that generate greater media significance. The Cannes Film Festival and the high impact of its red carpet is a good example of this.

The most coveted Hollywood stars of the moment walk along this long staircase to present their latest works before critics and an expert jury in the field. On the other hand, among actresses and directors, models and influencers, ambassadors of brands that sponsor the festival or that organize any type of event in Cannes, pose.

Beyond the squad of international models that attend a large part of the pageants, such as Gigi Hadid, Irina Shayk or Naomi Campbell herself, there are other influencers who have managed to position themselves and be invited to high-level ceremonies.

This is the case of the Valencian Marta Lozano –who has achieved the figure of one million followers on Instagram- who walked the most glamorous red carpet of the year dressed in Spanish fashion. The founder of The Glow Filter posed in a black and white two-tone design by Atelier Pronovias that stood out for a cape that matched the inside of the bust with a four-meter-long cascading train.

The influencer posed, waved and did not stop smiling during her time on the red carpet in Cannes, a few moments that she later shared on her social networks to involve her followers. But beyond her clothing, some comments criticized the reason for her appearance at the film festival, since the young woman did not present any work.

“And who are you to be there?” says one. “What movie are you in?” writes another. Users who ask for a space for sanity when making a guest list consistent with the magnitude of the Cannes Film Festival. The debate is served.
