The visit last week of a group of executives from Marina de Empresas to Barcelona had consequences and this Monday it seems that the Valencia City Council wants to resolve as quickly as possible a conflict that threatened to affect the innovative hub that the city has become .

Thus, the mayor of Valencia, Joan Ribó, reiterated this Monday the will of the municipal government that the Marina de Empresas remain in the Marina de València. And for this it has acted quickly: the Plenary of the City Council will approve this Thursday, initially, the document for the Correction of Errors of the Structural Catalog of Property and Protected Spaces of Valencia of the files referring to sheds 2, 4 and 5 of the Valencia Marina.

They explain from the City Council that it is a proposal aimed at repairing the disagreements regarding the permitted uses in the Marina sheds, which occurred in the years 2014-2105, in order to favor the development of entrepreneurship, innovation and promotion initiatives work, culture and business.

The circumstance of differences in the catalog comes, the mayor recalled, “from a ‘disaster’ made by the previous government, of the PP, in the years 2014/2015, by providing sheds numbers 2, 4 and 5 with two types of different protection. One of the protection formulas was the same as all the ones that were for the Navy in principle, the one we all knew, which is the one that allows works to be carried out inside the space. “And based on this, it is how the businessman Juan Roig was offered the possibility of increasing and acting in the facilities to enable the initiative called Marina de empresas”, explained Ribó.

As the mayor explained, it was then that a protection approved years ago was revealed, which prevented these actions. “And that discrepancy is what we have to resolve, because if not, it will not be possible to move forward,” explained Joan Ribó, who has announced that the next municipal plenary session will address and resolve this discrepancy in what is the responsibility of the municipality, and the matter will pass. to the Ministry of Urbanism.

“We hope, we wish and we ask that everything go ahead as quickly as possible”, stated the mayor of Valencia, who has insisted on the will of the municipal government that “the Marina de Empresas be located in the Marina de València, because we think that it is its natural place”. Ribó has underlined the importance of the “initiatives of Juan Roig as a patron of different actions in the city”, and has expressed the desire of the City Council that the Marina de Empresas can be set up soon in Shed number 4 of La Marina.

For her part, Deputy Mayor Sandra Gómez has also assessed the controversy, after the Town Planning Commission approved this morning the updating of the protection sheets for the La Marina sheds. Gómez has pointed out that “for the Urban Planning area it is a relevant project and we are going to work so that the projects have the possibility of being located in the different spaces that we have available, but especially in La Marina”, she has remarked.

In the case of Lanzadera, he has indicated that it is “a project that has a significant need for space” and has assured that “there is no doubt that it will stay here and will also stay in the Marina de València”.
