The Chair of Sports and Physical Education – Center for Olympic Studies (CEEF – CEO) of the University of Girona (UdG) participates in the European project FEMCoach, collaborating in the design of a training program for coaches that takes into account the specificities of training for young sporty women.

The initiative seeks to promote women’s youth sports through the development of the skills of coaches to improve the health and quality of life of athletes, in addition to “satisfying the biological, psychological and social needs of young people.”

Within the project, the CEEF-CEO, in addition to collaborating in all the tasks led by the other partners of the consortium, is responsible for the development of the processes and materials for learning.

Their task is to combine learning opportunities with the real needs of coaches following the research-based evidence approach.

FEMCoach is part of the European Erasmus Sport program, which promotes collaborations between institutions to encourage participation in sport and physical activity.

The projects of this program bring together institutions from different fields and countries to work together, thus strengthening the internationalization capacity of organizations by addressing common needs and priorities.

The UdG is one of the eight institutions from six different countries that work together on the program.
