The symbolic golden grain fields

In the middle of a hazy dawn in Manlleu, in Osona, we can contemplate in the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia these fields of cereals with golden tones.

It is not strange that we perceive this color, since the cereal is gold (or even more valuable), because it has been a staple food for countless generations.

Mankind is believed to have existed for about 2.5 million years, but cereals were introduced into the diet about 10,000 years ago, during the Neolithic revolution and the development of agriculture. The human being went, in this way, from a diet based on hunting and gathering to a diet with a high content of cereals.

In the images we can also see the effects of haze, a meteorological phenomenon consisting of the presence in the atmosphere of very small particles of dust, ash, clay or sand in suspension. In this case, Saharan dust.

As an immediate effect and depending on its density, the haze produces a decrease in visibility to a greater or lesser extent and even the appearance of discomfort in the eyes, nose and throat.

With the hazy sky, the sun fights to vindicate itself. In this case, the optical effect and perspective even allow us to play catch the king sun with our hands.
