The Swedish multinational Telavox is committed to Barcelona with the opening of a hub in the heart of the city. The technology group plans to develop strategic projects linked to telecommunications and provide support and customer service. “In the city we find the professionals we need thanks to the ability of its ecosystem to generate and attract talent from abroad,” says Albino Campo, general director of Numintec, the Catalan company that Telavox acquired in 2021 and which will now channel this initiative.
The hub has already started to be operational. So far, Telavox has hired 10 people and expects to reach 60 by the end of this year. Campo explains that half of the staff will be dedicated to the development of technological projects (to date they were working in Sweden) and that the other half will be specialized in providing global support services, which start from scratch in Barcelona. Most of the workers will be hired and a minority will be transferred from the Telavox headquarters in Sweden. The manager assures that the team will increase as the activity grows in the coming years. In 2024, at least 30 more people will join.
The investment to start up this center has been 2.7 million euros, between the contracts and the remodeling works of the offices, located near Paseo de Gràcia. The Numintec team, made up of 65 people, will also move to these same offices. “We have a great opportunity because being close to this R D center will allow us to increase synergies and accelerate business growth,” celebrates Campo.
Numintec is specialized in the development of software used by customer service companies and large corporations that have these services integrated into their structure. Among its clients are companies such as Danone, Sabadell, Cooltra or Generali. In 2022, the firm billed 15 million euros with an Ebitda margin (gross profit) of 25%. “This year, we are going to enter 20 million thanks to the support we are receiving from Telavox, which starting this year will sell our technology to all its customers.” Numintec is focused on the local market while Telavox has a more extensive presence in central and northern Europe. The group bills a total of 280 million euros per year. In the future, it does not rule out the acquisition of other Spanish SMEs in the same sector.
