Mick Jagger, the 80-year-old Rolling Stones legend, has celebrated his son Deveraux’s seventh birthday with a series of family photos, shared by his partner Melanie Hamrick, 36, on Instagram. In a loving statement, Hamrick expressed her amazement at Deveraux’s rapid growth, calling him her “ray of sunshine” and highlighting his energy and joy.

The images portray intimate and happy moments of the family, including one in which the trio stands in front of a picturesque country backdrop at sunset, and another that appears to be a throwback, in which the proud parents hold Deveraux.

The Rolling Stones vocalist has given a lot to talk about due to his striking physical resemblance to his youngest son. What stood out the most was the little boy’s smile and hair. “You are your dad’s twin: the gestures, the uniqueness, the sense of humor and the exuberance,” commented one user. Others have claimed that he “is a clone” of his father.

The musician, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1989, opened up about the paternity of his youngest son, admitting in an interview with The Guardian that raising a child at his age is a real challenge. This new parenting cost him more than other times because Jagger was “a little out of practice” when it came to raising a baby again, since “it’s not like riding a bicycle.”

Deveraux, born in 2016 and affectionately called Devi, came to a time in Jagger’s life when he wasn’t “working as much,” allowing him to spend more time with his son. During confinement, Jagger, who barely worked with the band, took the opportunity to enjoy valuable moments with his youngest son.

Jagger, who has had eight children with different partners, recognized that each child is different and that, although they can be guided to a certain extent, it is also important to foster their own interests and personalities. “The more children you have, the more permissive you become with them, to be honest,” he said.
