Rafa Nadal couldn’t be more excited right now. The tennis player returns to competition at the Brisbane tournament, in Australia, after eleven months away from the game. After his arrival in the oceanic country, the renowned athlete declared that he felt “much better” than he imagined just a month ago and that having returned to action “is already a victory” for him. Despite all the motivation he has, if anything has given him extra energy, it has been the visit of his one-year-old son, Rafa, during one of his training sessions in the Australian town.

The truth is that upon his arrival in Australia, thousands of fans surrounded Rafa Nadal at a promotional event for the Brisbane tournament. As if the warmth of the fans were not enough, the winner of 22 Grand Slams also received the support of his family. In one of his training sessions, his wife, Xisca Perelló, was also present, along with Rafa Jr., his son. The athlete is with his entire family on the Australian tour and in one of the sessions it was possible to see how the proud mother is attentive to the little one, who has a mini racket in his hand.

But the truth is that they are not the only images that the little one has starred in. The athlete’s son was captured with him, in a video that has already gone viral on networks in which you can see how Rafa Jr. takes his father’s hand and walks, while the man from Manacor walks towards the training track along with part of his team. This represents extra motivation for the Mallorcan, who will return to the competition after practically a year away from the game.

“I feel good. I can’t complain. I feel much better than I expected a month ago,” said Rafa Nadal upon his arrival in Brisbane. His words were received with shouts of enthusiasm by his followers present. Nadal began training this Thursday in Brisbane to compete in the ATP 250, with which he will end his long absence after a left hip injury. “What I missed most was probably the feeling of being ready to compete, that you feel ready to enjoy yourself and go for it,” he said at the time.

The tennis player feels the warmth of the fans and also that of his family, who will be with him in this tournament. It was on October 8, 2022 when Mery Perelló entered a private clinic on the island of Mallorca and gave birth to little Rafa. The final stretch of the pregnancy was somewhat turbulent. Finally, the little one was born in the 37th week of gestation. For fear that the baby would be born prematurely, Mery had to remain under observation and rest. Despite everything, the birth finally went well and mother and son left the hospital safe and sound. Now the family could not be in a better moment.
