In this series of images I show in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos the spectacle of the cherry trees loaded with flowers this spring in the surroundings of Terrassa, in the Vallès Occidental region.

Cherry trees, along with almond, peach, plum and apricot trees, are a species that is part of the genus Prunus.

Members of this genus are distinguished by their flowering, which arises in small clusters of flowers, and by the softness of their fruit, which is characterized by having a single, shallow indentation on one side.

Compared to other fruit trees, its harvest period is very short, being from late spring to early summer.

Therefore, these days of April are one of the best times to contemplate the splendid flowering of cherry trees, in this case, around the city of Terrassa.
