The Solidarity Aces of Banco Sabadell, the most human side of the Conde de Godó Trophy

The 71st edition of the Barcelona Open Banc Sabadell – Conde de Godó Trophy, which has been played since last April 13, once again has the solidarity initiative led by the banking entity and which, under the name Aces Solidarios, gives visibility and raises funds for non-profit entities.

On Wednesday, April 17, Josep Oliu, president of Banco Sabadell, participated in the presentation event of this edition of Aces Solidarios. During his speech, the president of Banco Sabadell, Josep Oliu, indicated that this initiative “is part of the entity’s commitment to society and our willingness to contribute to sustainable development.” “In addition to financial support, its objective is to give visibility to the important work carried out by foundations and organizations dedicated to improving the lives of all those who need it most,” he indicated.

Representing the foundations that will benefit, Adolfo Rivas, managing director of Fundación Vinjoy, attended the event; Gemma Marcet, head of Alliances and Fundraising at SMC Salut Mental Catalunya; Ana López, manager of Asapme Aragonese Association for Mental Health; and Ángeles Fernández, general director and patron of Proyecto Hombre Sevilla ‘Proyecto Joven’.

Each of them, as spokespersons for their respective entities, explained the actions they carry out in their organizations and took the opportunity to thank Banco Sabadell for the initiative. All representatives agreed to highlight the importance that the gesture has for their entities and the support it represents for their work.

The average number of aces recorded in each edition of the Open is 470. The maximum number was recorded in 2008, with 634, and the minimum, in 2011, with 313. Since 2008, more than 50 entities have benefited from the more than 350,000 euros raised.

For Banco Sabadell, this tournament and the solidarity actions carried out around it are a way of linking the entity’s corporate values ??with sports and, especially with those of tennis, a sport of fair play and principles such as the effort, the desire to improve and respect.
