The Snow Society, a Netflix blockbuster directed by J.A. Bayona, which recreates the aerial tragedy in the Andes in 1972, has won as the best Spanish film at the RNE Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards, while the tense thriller Upon Entry, by Venezuelans Alejandro Rojas and Juan Sebastián Vasquez, has been recognized as best debut film by a jury that also valued the performance of the Spanish Argentine Alberto Amman as best actor in a Spanish production.

Carolina Yuste from Extremadura has been awarded best actress for her role as Conchita, wife of the Catalan comedian Eugenio in Saben aquell, the biopic directed by David Trueba.

In the international section, Killers of the Moon, by Martin Scorsese, has won the award for best foreign film, and its protagonist, Lily Gladstone, has been considered best actress in a foreign production. The native actress has just recently won the Golden Globe and is one of the favorites for the Oscars. For his part, the Irishman Cillian Murphy has won the recognition for best foreign actor for his extraordinary work in Oppenheimer, by Christopher Nolan, in the role of the physicist considered the father of the atomic bomb.

The jury of this 68th edition, chaired by RNE film journalist Conxita Casanovas, is made up of Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, Joan Vilà, Yolanda Flores and Gerardo Sánchez, from RTVE, and Jordi Camps, Alfons Gorina, Astrid Meseguer, Oti Rodríguez Marchante and Àngel Sala. The gala will take place during the week of Sant Jordi. The RNE Sant Jordi Cinematography Awards also recognize an outstanding professional career in the world of cinema and present the Industry Award. In addition, by vote of RNE listeners, the Sant Jordi Roses are awarded to the best Spanish and foreign films. The name of the winners of these awards will be made public later.
