The Six 'Vanguardia Awards' of the 142nd anniversary

The celebration of the 142nd anniversary of La Vanguardia has given rise to the first edition of the Vanguardia Awards, which aim to distinguish outstanding careers in all areas of society but also to remember some figures who have already left us. On this occasion, former IOC president Juan Antonio Samaranch, who died in 2010, and former minister Josep Piqué, who died last April, will be remembered in memoriam.

The emotional memory was the culmination of awards that distinguished Sol Daurella (Cobega) and Marc Puig (Puig) as entrepreneurs of the year; the physicist Ignacio Cirac, the artist Lita Cabellut, the singer Bad Gyal and Grant Dalton, patron of the America’s Cup that will be held in Barcelona next year.

The awards ceremony in the Oval room of the MNAC was chaired by King Felipe and Queen Letizia, who wanted to recognize the journalistic work of the Godó Group on such a special occasion, and was attended by almost 700 guests.
