This Wednesday, the Sagrada Família of Barcelona placed the last sculptural piece of the tower of the Evangelist Matthew, represented with the sculpture of the human figure, and this Thursday it will continue with the crowning of the tower of John, with the figure of the eagle.

The crowning of the towers with the figures of the tetramorphs of Matthew and John marks the completion of the towers of the evangelists – from which the scaffolding will be progressively removed – and on November 12 a blessing mass will be celebrated that will mark the beginning of the illuminations of the four towers, which will last until Christmas, the temple reported this Wednesday in a statement.

The four towers are crowned by the four winged figures of the tetramorphs, the work of the sculptor Xavier Medina-Campeny, with which Christian iconography has represented the narrators of the life of Jesus. In 2022 the Marcos and Lucas towers will be completed.
