I share in La Vanguardia Readers’ Photos this snapshot I took of a robin with my Fujifilm camera in Pasai Donibane (San Juan).

Walking along the path that leads to the lighthouse, I came across this bird that allowed itself to be photographed. And it is a tremendously sociable, daring and curious little bird, with a very melodic and appreciated song.

Its song is similar to that of the nightingale except for the curious color of its plumage. That of the male and the female is similar: the chest and face are orange, bordered by a bluish gray on the sides of the neck and chest.

The upper parts are brown and the belly whitish, while the legs and feet are brown. The beak and eyes are black.

This curious passerine bird is distributed throughout Europe, mainly in the southern and western region of the continent, where it lives all year round.
