The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) issued a harsh statement this Wednesday disassociating itself from the actions of Luis Rubiales, for whom the Prosecutor’s Office is asking for more than two years in prison for his kiss on Jenni Hermoso and the subsequent coercion.

The RFEF has reported that it will submit to the Management Commission the implementation of a forensic audit to investigate “any type of contract that may be under suspicion due to the actions” of the former president of the organization, Luis Rubiales.

In the statement, the RFEF shows “its total disassociation with the irregular conduct and actions of its former president and all those who may be involved, as well as emphasizing that this institution is far above its leaders.”

In addition, it specifies that “it will demand responsibilities from those in charge of sending the documentation required by the courts, if it is confirmed that they failed to comply with their obligation” and “it will purify any other responsibility that could arise from irregular conduct and decisions.”

In his writing, he indicates that the RFEF “is a fundamental institution, the base of Spanish football, home of the national teams and made up of professionals who carry out their work effectively and who jointly ensure the progress of this sport with great responsibility and effort. “, which is why it is understood that “it must be linked to particular conduct, especially that of those who, always allegedly, have engaged in execrable, if not illegal, conduct.”

Pedro Rocha, president of the Management Company, considers it “essential to separate and disassociate the institution from the allegedly criminal conduct” and assures that “we will go to the end in purging any existing responsibility.”

The RFEF adds that in the last six months “all efforts have been directed to achieving this stabilization and closing the crisis generated, working to make football talk again.”

“The RFEF is aware of the importance of the current moment, months away from a European Championship, an Olympic Games and the presentation of the World Cup bid. Therefore, it guarantees itself to FIFA, UEFA, the CSD and all fans and fans the stability of this institution. Spanish football is much more than its former presidents or leaders and that is how we want to convey it to public opinion,” the note adds.
