The reform of the Palamós promenade will allow it to gain a square open to the sea

The reform of the Passeig del Mar in Palamós, in the Baix Empordà (Girona) will begin this autumn, will cost 8 million and will make it possible to gain a new plaza open to the sea.

The works will be carried out in two phases – which overlap – and cover more than half a kilometer; specifically, the section between Aragó and Carmel streets.

The new promenade will maintain the aesthetics of the current one, but will enhance the pedestrian area, include a bike lane and improve the connection with the leading streets.

In addition, part of the wall facing Gran Beach will be demolished and wooden walkways will be installed to access the sand.

The mayor, Lluís Puig, emphasizes that the project – which yesterday received the approval of the plenary session – now faces the procedures to make it a reality in the second quarter of 2026.
