The Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has once again launched a “message of help against verbal and physical violence” suffered by referees and considers that it is becoming “a mission “almost impossible” for them to carry out their functions.

“From the Technical Committee of Referees of the Royal Spanish Football Federation we once again send a message of help against the verbal and physical violence that referees are repeatedly suffering, especially minors and those who act in non-professional categories, each weekend,” the organization says in a text.

“It is becoming an almost impossible mission to carry out our duties in the middle of an unbreathable environment with insults, threats and attacks. Much more so when it comes to underage referees who are in the middle of the training process,” he adds.

To solve this type of behavior, the CTA requests that “clubs and fans take a position in the fight against this scourge”, “that all federations and institutions linked to the world of football become aware of the seriousness” and adopt “training and coercive” and that the media “firmly censor attitudes of hatred and violence on football fields of any category.

The statement continues stating that violence cannot be “normalized in any area of ??life and even less so if we talk about sport” and that the physical integrity of referees cannot continue to be exposed. Finally he concludes with the phrase: “Without referees, there is no football!”
