Look how cute he was born on the day!! The sun’s rays show their reflections in the middle of Cabrerès in this snapshot that I captured for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia from Sant Hipòlit de Voltregà, in the region of Osona.

El Cabrerès is located between the Prelittoral and Transversal mountain ranges. It is an altiplano formed by a structural platform with cliffs to the south and east, with Tavertet, El Far or Avenc, drawn by the erosion of the Ter, and with an average altitude of 1,100 meters.

Historically, the Cabrerès covered the jurisdictional term of the castle of Cabrera, which included the parishes of Santa Maria de Corcó, Sant Martí Sescorts, Roda de Ter, Sant Llorenç Dosmunts and Sant Julià de Cabrera and included the castle of Barrés, near the squirrel It was the patrimonial core of the vizcondado of Cabrera.

Currently, Collsacabra (or Cabrerès) is a natural region of inland Catalonia, 142 km² in area, located between the regions of Osona, Garrotxa and Selva.

It is not strange that here you can enjoy a splendid landscape and these sunrises, since this area was protected in 1992 by the Plan for Areas of Natural Interest (PEIN) of the Generalitat of Catalonia.

The maximum altitude of the Collsacabra is found in the Serra de Cabrera (1307.7 meters), which together with the Altiplano de Aiats and the mountains of Montcau and Puig del Bach, draws a characteristic profile seen from the Plana de Vic.
