The storm Karlotta that will hit most of the Peninsula at the end of this week will hit Catalonia just in passing. Precipitation is expected during the day on Friday, but it will not be widespread. And they are not generous either, so they will not serve to alleviate the emergency situation due to drought in the territory. Strong and persistent rainfall is expected in another 13 communities, especially on the coast of Galicia, western Andalusia and mountain systems.
Rain will not be the main protagonist of the storm. The AEMET issued the orange warning for gusts of winds of more than 100 kilometers per hour (km/h), waves that could reach 7 meters high in five communities: Asturias, Cantabria, Castilla y León, Galicia and La Rioja.
Catalonia will register slightly cloudy skies this weekend with high cloudiness and overcast in the Pyrenees. Rainfall is expected in the Lleida Pyrenees starting this Thursday afternoon, and it is not ruled out in the rest of the Pyrenees in the late afternoon. Even so, they will probably be weak.
The snow level in the Pyrenees will be around 1,600-1,800 meters. In this area there will be a general drop in temperatures, which will result in weak frosts in parts of the Pyrenees.
