Sinesio Delgado is the third location where section radars are implemented in the city and will be the longest and the only one that will have intermediate speed controls to capture vehicles entering through the access roads. Madrid City Council has established a four-month notice period to guarantee that information about the existence of this new control reaches the greatest number of citizens and thus enhance awareness efforts to improve road safety in the area.

From this Friday, September 15, until January 14 of next year, all owners of vehicles that exceed the maximum permitted speed will be informed by letter of the infraction committed without entailing payment of a fine.

The penalties for exceeding the speed limits, according to the Road Safety Law, are classified as serious or very serious with amounts ranging from 100 to 600 euros and the associated loss of 2 and up to 6 points on the driving license. .

The radar section of Sinesio Delgado in the direction of Ciudad Universitaria covers a total of 1,783 meters. The starting chamber is located a few meters from the Piedrafita de Cebrero roundabout, at the height of the Ganapanes sports area. The end of the section is located shortly before the intersection with Miraflores Avenue. The intermediate control point is located at the intersection with Valdeverdeja Street.

In the Castellana direction, the beginning of the section radar, which extends 1,800 meters, is located shortly after the intersection of Sinesio Delgado with Miraflores Avenue; The end is before reaching the Piedrafita de Cebrero roundabout. The intermediate control point has been installed at the intersection of Sinesio Delgado with Doroteo Benache Street.

The acquisition and commissioning of the six Sinesio Delgado section radars has involved an expense of 95,000 euros, of which 80,000 have been financed by the European Union with Next Generation EU funds.
