The Poor Clare nuns of the Belorado Monastery (Burgos), which includes the nuns of the Orduña convent (Bizkaia), assure that they are neither locked up nor kidnapped nor manipulated nor distanced from their families and, above all, that “they do not leave the Church” and that they will explain “what they have been discovering”, “denying” the information that has been spread since on Monday, through a statement, they announced that they were leaving the Catholic Church.
In it, signed by the mother abbess, Sister Isabel de la Trinidad, on behalf of the sixteen sisters that make up the religious community, they indicated that they became under the tutelage and jurisdiction of Pablo de Rojas Sánchez-Franco and his so-called Pía Unión Sancti Pauli Apostoli, which are not in communion with Rome and whose founder was excommunicated in 2019.
Through a recently created account on the social network Instagram (@tehagoluz), the nuns have shared a video and a photograph, in which a dozen of them are seen with their families and with José Ceacero, the supposed priest. who is accompanying them in the process, a member of the Pious Union Sancti Pauli Apostoli, under the orders of De Rojas.
Next to the image, a text: “Sisters called ‘schismatics locked up, kidnapped, manipulated and kept away from their families'”, with which they try to deny the information spread these days, and which have them “worried”, as some of them pointed out this Tuesday. their relatives to journalists, at the doors of the monastery, because they do not conform to the truth.
In the video, which can be seen in the stories section, the nuns deny that they are kidnapped or far from their families. Also that they are going to leave the Church, and they announce that they intend to explain what happened, what they are experiencing, in order to alleviate the “concern” that many people are sending them. “We are not leaving the Church. We will explain it to you. So for those of you who are worried about this, have a little patience,” they indicated; “We are fine, our reality is not that we are kidnapped far from our families. We will gradually share our experience with you.”
Furthermore, from the San Damián inn, in the Convent of Santa Clara de Belorado, and together with their families, they insist that their desire is “to be faithful to the truth of Christ that they have received, to the fidelity of the faith and to the doctrine of the Catholic Church”, and that they will show “what they have discovered”, in the face of those concerns raised by their decision.
The publications on Instagram add to the content that, throughout the week, has been appearing on a recently created website, www.tehagoluz.com, in which the sisters introduce themselves and which includes, so far, the Catholic manifesto and the letter in which they announce their departure from what they call ‘Conciliar Church’.
Also request for guardianship to Pablo de Rojas Sánchez-Franco, his response of acceptance and images of two masses supposedly celebrated in the monastery church by members of the Pía Unión, although the Archbishopric of Burgos does not consider it confirmed, since if it is This would confirm the crime of schism and lead to the excommunication of the nuns.
