The Municipal Police of Madrid have taken statements from eight students from the Galdós university residence, located in the Moncloa area, following some humiliating videos in which the hazing inflicted by the veterans on a group of young people at the beginning was recorded. of the current course and which consisted, among others, of sucking frozen fish and eating dog food in a submissive position. “Slut, let them eat it well,” one of the veteran students is heard saying in the videos.
This Monday, La Sexta’s program Better Late broadcast recordings in which several young women, some of them still minors, can be seen forced to kneel and listen to insults of all kinds – many of them sexist – from of students – both men and women – from previous courses.
The events occurred on the night of September 13 in Jaime del Amo Park in the University City of Moncloa. And the victims were also forced to wear their bras over their clothes. As La Sexta has pointed out, these “hazing” were carried out under the argument that they had broken a “rule” of the residence consisting of not maintaining relationships with other students during the first month of the course.
Police sources have indicated to EFE that no victim of this humiliating hazing has filed a complaint and that it was the director of the center himself who, after learning of the videos, communicated what happened to the Security Forces through the guardian agents of the district of Moncloa-Aravaca.
The judicial coordination station of the Municipal Police began the investigations, investigating eight residents in that school, police sources list that indicate that the statements ended yesterday and the case is, therefore, now in the hands of the judicial authority.
They also remember that the Municipal Police launched a surveillance service with the start of the university course to prevent any “hazing” that could occur.
This service is operational during the first weeks of the course, and is part of the agreement signed in 2021 between the Madrid City Council – with the presence of the Municipal Police and Madrid Health -, the University and the Association of Residence Halls.
