The police arrest a man in Ibiza who set fire to the boat his ex was on

National Police agents in Ibiza have arrested a man who wanted to burn his ex-partner by setting fire to the boat he was on with a friend. The victim was on the boat, in the city of Eivissa, when he detected a strong smell of smoke coming from the boat. Together with his friend, they looked for the place where the flames had originated and managed to put out the fire thanks to a fire extinguisher that was on the boat.

When putting out the flames that had caught on the ship, the two victims verified that the fire had been caused by an incendiary object that had been thrown onto the deck of the boat from outside the ship. The woman learned that the object had been thrown by her ex-partner as she then began receiving intimidating messages.

In these messages, sent on the night of February 29, the man claimed responsibility for throwing the incendiary object and also made various threats against the woman. The victim also informed the police that he had been the subject of a series of physical and psychological attacks suffered during the relationship with the aggressor. She had recently broken up with him and also showed that she had received up to 100 messages a day from his ex.

The two attacked decided to go to the city police station to file a complaint. The Investigation Group of the Family and Minors Unit of the Police took charge of the investigations and, once all the procedures had been carried out, the agents of the Citizen Security Brigade of the National Police in Eivissa arrested the man on March 2. alleged perpetrator in the vicinity of the city’s port. The man is accused of a crime of abuse in the family environment.
