In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate the beautiful waning moon accompanied by the passage of the plane, coming from the airport of Barcelona – El Prat, today at dawn on the beach of Gavà, in the Baix Llobregat.

When the illuminated part of the moon is seen in the shape of a “C” it ??is waning, as seen in these photographs. When seen as a “D” it is increasing.

The waning moon is one of the four lunar phases that occur monthly, and along with the waxing moon and the full moon, which can be seen if the sky is clear.

The waning moon is the interval between the full moon and the new moon. Normally, this is referred to as the last quarter phase.

Spotting is the observation and recording of aircraft. It is a practice so popular among photography lovers that they are called spotters.
