In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we have traveled the spring paths of the Vall d’Horta, within the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac and which is part of the municipality of Sant Llorenç Savall.
It is a magnificent natural environment to enjoy taking a walk among the vegetation and vineyards, at the foot of the Moncau mountain.
In addition, you can discover the Marquet de les Roques building. This manor house was acquired in the 18th century by the Oliver family from Castellar del Vallès, ancestors of the poet Joan Oliver, known as Pere Quart.
The Olivers became rich from the Sabadell textile industry and, at the end of the 19th century, contacted the architect Juli Batllevell to give this farmhouse a modernist touch, to which they added the chapel dedicated to San Roque.
During the life of the poet Pere Quart, the house was a meeting place and social gathering for Catalan intellectuals and writers. The foundation of the Sabadell-based publishing label Edicions La Mirada was created here.
