The Three Kings parade of Girona will change part of its route due to the lack of police officers to carry out the initially planned route. A route that required more traffic closures and greater traffic regulation.

The beginning and end of the route will not be modified and as usual, Their Majesties will leave Camp de Mart, where they will set up camp, and from there they will parade through the Joaquim de Vayreda roundabout, Caterina Albert street, Prudenci Bertrana squares and Miquel de Palol and Mestre Francesc Civil street.

The main changes will come from Calle del Mestre Francesc Civil. From that point, the procession will turn towards Calle de Santa Eugènia and Plaza Marquès de Camps instead of going towards Plaza Poeta Marquina, the Ronda de Sant Antoni Maria Claret and Calle Joan Maragall.

From the Plaza Marquès de Camps, Their Majesties will pass through Calle Álvarez de Castro, Plazas de l’Hospital and Pompeu Fabra; the Viale Oeste de la Plaza Catalunya, Avenida Sant Francesc, Calle de Santa Clara, Plaza Independencia, Avenida Ramon Folch, the Rellotge de la Devesa roundabout, Paseo de la Devesa and Esplanada de la Copa, the place usual completion of the route from 2022.

In a press release, the Girona City Council explains that the route has been agreed between the organizers, the Brotherhood of Jesus Crucificat-Manaies of Girona and the City Council itself. They also explain that the change is motivated “by the availability of police officers to carry out the initially planned route.”

With this change, the space reserved for people with reduced mobility will also be modified. If in the previous route, this area was in front of Estació Espai Jove, with the new route, it will be located between numbers 11 and 13 of Calle Santa Eugènia, right next to the entrance to the parking lot of Plaza Joan Brossa.

In this edition, there will be a silent point for people with acoustic sensitivity. A place that will be located at the turn between Francesc Mestre Civil and Santa Eugènia streets.
