Shtayeh insisted that he wants to see an end to “the atrocities, the release of all hostages and an immediate agreement” to end the war, because any delay in a solution means “more killings”, more suffering and “more disaster.” .

The Palestinian prime minister mentioned that an agreement with Hamas for Palestinian unity would be possible, but as long as they follow the principles of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), which are “very clear.”

“If Hamas is willing to seek a common phase with us, we are willing. If it is not, it is another story. But we need Palestinian unity,” he said in a panel at the Munich Security Conference on the future of relations between Israel and Palestine.
